The Project

In June 2023, Stride Construction were approached by our long-term client, Australia Post, with early concept designs for a functioning shipping container.

After much refinement and additions from our experienced team, Australia Post and Stride Construction collaborated on this prototype Temporary Post Office Box.

These POB shipping containers will be used for disaster relief in rural areas during floods, fires, and other emergency events as well as during Australia Post retail store refurbishments, to maintain service and allow customers to collect their mail and packages while normal facilities are unavailable.

This particular POB was constructed on a short lead time and with only a five-day period of works, in Woodend Victoria for deployment at the major renovation site of the historic Orange Post Office in New South Wales.

Stride completed the works on Friday, after which it was immediately couriered via overnight truck, to be put into service on the Monday.
Australia Post are preparing for a fleet of these to be constructed and deployed in 2024, and Stride look forward to being a part of this development.
