The Project

After first opening doors in 1846, the Brighton Metro Hotel underwent a $3.5M refurbishment and extension.

Stride were entrusted by highly-valued client Australian Venue Co to complete the refurbishment under an extremely tight programme and strict staging requirements. The project was delivered over a 26-week program under three stages.

The project was initially over budget requiring Stride to initiate value engineering options to deliver a 6% improvement on the contract sum.

The building was extended into the carpark to deliver a Palm Springs-inspired terrace and beer garden. The external areas are charecterised by honed concrete floors, breeze blocks, timber acoustic wall panelling, and lush landscaping.

The internal fit out is characterised by retro colours, copper features, and solid timber finishes. These are cleverly complimented with a sky-ceiling giving the now bustling space a boundless and open atmosphere.
