The Project

After a successful tender period and extensive value management, Stride Construction were engaged to complete upgrades to the gaming room, bistro, kids play areas, and kitchen server, as well as construct a new beer garden and bar with storage area at the Waterloo Station Hotel.

Over a 48-week program Stride completed the extensive scope of works within a live environment, ensuring minimal disruptions to staff and patrons.

Challenges for the project included a multitude of design changes throughout the construction phase, as well as significant lead times with joinery. Some difficulties also arose regarding the circular feature lighting within gaming room which had an intricate installation process.

A major success throughout the project was completing the gaming room fit out (from demolition to handover) within 2 weeks, despite original program indicated 6 weeks, whilst maintaining momentum throughout the other areas of the project.

As well as this, Stride were able to build strong relationships with hotel staff and nominated contractors, as well as strengthen our existing relationships with Australian Venue Co. and Stallard Meek Flightpath Architects. This is another project with a fantastic outcome that Stride are proud to be a part of.
